Retrospective

Happy New Year everyone!

A lot has happened this year, and I'm really grateful for every second of it. It's hard to recall it all at one time, but I'll certainly try to hit the high points. The first thing that comes to mind is that I graduated from SCAD in November. It still hasn't sunk in yet, but it will when everyone else goes back to classes this Wednesday and I won't be with them. It was a blessing that has finally run it's course and will continue to play a part in my life.

While still at SCAD, I had the chance to meet some amazing people, including professors and alumni. I made some life-long friends this year, and it is the most rewarding part of going to SCAD.

I also got to meet the MAD artists this year, which was truly inspiring. Watching Jack Davis sketch in my roommate's sketchbook was the highlight for sure.

Some big news for me was learning that Tyler Kupferer's The Girl and the Fox made it into the Annies. You can find more about it here. I helped paint backgrounds on the film, and it's awesome to see it doing so well. Everyone worked so hard on it, and it was definitely a labor of love for Tyler and the rest of the crew.

So much more happened, but that will have to suffice.

Overall, it was a great year. I'm really looking forward to what the coming year brings. It will bring a lot of change, but it's that transitional time. For now, here's a sneak peak at what I'm currently working on. It will still be under wraps for a while, but there is more to come! In the meantime, I'll be uploading other works I will be doing at the same time. Cheers!

Sky-mobile

Here is a fun concept I came up with for a steampunk 1920's era blimp motorcycle. Enjoy!

Head and Hand Study

This is one of my favorite drawings from my head anatomy class with Paul Hudson. We were given a 20 minute period where we got to draw directly from the model with no directions. Thus far in the class, we had been focusing on specific parts like the ears or nose, but we hadn't had the chance to draw a complete head study. So I went for it, and this was the result.

I also realized that I forgot to post this drawing with the other hands. This was my final hand drawing for the class. It is actually a study for a much larger painting.

Thank you all for viewing!

In Aeternam

Hey everyone!

I am privileged to be the concept and storyboard artist on the film In Aeternam, which is currently raising money through Kickstarter. The film is shaping up to be fantastic, and we on the crew are all very excited to see it become a reality. If you would like, you can help us make that happen. Check out the video at the link below, and feel free to donate if you would like. Most importantly, I hope you enjoy what you see! Feel free to go look at the website as well.
